Award-winning
author Dr. John Griffin is back with the compelling true story of
Lt. Bill Farrow, who piloted a B-25 medium bomber, the plane General
Jimmy Doolittle selected to bomb Tokyo in World War II. On April 19,
1942, the day following the raid on Tokyo, the Japanese captured
Farrow and his crew. Following six months of starvation and torture,
Farrow was taken to a deserted cemetery in Shanghai and executed.

Dr. Griffin holds the honorary title
Distinguished Professor Emeritus with the University of South
Carolina. Governor Jim Hodges of South Carolina named him to the
Order of the Silver Crescent, the state’s highest award.

His 1996 biography of Thomas Wolfe won the
History Book of the Year Award from the North Carolina Historical
Society. His 2001 biography of noted author Jean Toomer won the
Adele Mellen Award.
